Whether checking your site for unauthorized modification by hackers, checking to see that your web master has made requested changes, or to make sure that your boss who cannot spell isn't making the company web site into a corporate embarrassment ....WatchMySite!© provides an easy way to keep track of your public persona on the web. You can even use it to track changes on somebody else's site......to check if they finally got around to putting in a link to your site or that the contracted for advertising is actually in place. If you have mirror sites you can check that all sites have the latest software, web pages etc.

Create a new database with File|New, enter the name of the first file on your web site, use the included 'spider' to find all the links out of this page and the rest of your pages and click run. The first pass will calculate the file sizes and checksums... when this is done set up a time interval, click the timed run icon, and the program will periodically check your web site notifying you of any changes. It can even keep track of connection errors and time-outs to check that your web site is really available.

WatchMySite!© was designed to keep track of  web sites with little setup and less bother to run. Although one could probably accomplish the same result through a combination of FTP and other methods this program acquires files the old fashioned way....HTTP just like the end user. It can check the files by length, checksum, or against a locally stored reference copy. Intended for automatic execution in the background it can notify you one of several ways, even executing a script on your web host to either shut down a site until differences can be investigated or to copy a backup set of files in place. It will also save a local copy of any file failing one of the error checks. And remember....unless you are using secure FTP... you could be advertising your user name and password every time you use it!
